Samuel R. Richardson born June 1834, fought in the civil war.  He had a button shot off his coat.  Samuel moved to Montague County form Illinois.  Samuel was married to Emily J. (last name unknown) 2.  She was born September 3, 1840 and to this union was born 4 daughters, Ivy Johnson, Ann Sumptor, Margarett Yarborough, and Eunice Bays and four sons John, George (a Baptist preacher) Sylvester, and Greenberry.  They lived on a farm four miles south of Montague.  Their house was made of logs.  Emily Richardson died May 24, 1883.

Samuel met Fannie Lusenda Moreland, who was born April 19, 1852.  She moved to Montague County from Springfield, Missouri in a covered wagon.  born to them were four boys, James Davis, Tom Benjamin Francis M. and Willie Rankin.  By this time a two story house was built out of lumber.  Samuel R. Richardson died September 30, 1902.  the family remained on the farm until all were grown and married.  Fannie and the four boys moved to Nocona.  One Sunday morning, December 18, 1949, Fannie Lusenda Richardson was warming in front of an open fire and caught her clothes on fire, she ran outside screaming for a neighbor to put the fire out.  Fannie died shortly after reaching the hospital at the age of 97.

Samuel's and Fannie's son Tom Benjamin, born 1887, married Annie Gann born 1886.  Annie Gann moved to Montague County form Honey Grove, Texas in Fannin County.  She had six girls and one boy.  They were Dora Oxford, Rose Jones McLaughlin, Lizzie Murphy, Roma Hill, Fannie Sims, Date Hull, and a son William (Bill) Richardson.  Tom was a farmer in Montague County until he retired.  They moved into Nocona where he was the custodian for Bethel Baptist Church for many years.  He served as a Baptist Deacon for many years in several churches.  His wife Annie died October 1, 1966.  Tom married Bernice Dudley (still living).  Tom died December 18, 1976.
